Wang Tao's Biography & Awards:

Wang Tao, came from Yongfu of Guilin city, Guangxi province. He loves painting very much since his childhood. When he was 12 years old, he started to learn poetic prose, calligraphy and painting.

At his early years he learned from famous teachers and was good at landscape painting. He took the advantages of other famous masters and was deep influenced by Huang-he-shan-qiao. He added his new conceptions into it and paid attention to the art of composition. He was good at drawing the clouds and waters by lines. He often used Baiyun Pen to draw the outline of the mountains, then used ink stick to press and create the clouds and waters. All these made his paintings have unique features. At his old years he started all over again. He learned from the style of Chen Laolian and Chou Shizhou and devoted himself to the traditional Chinese ink and artistic charm.

广西桂林市永福人。自幼好画，12岁从师习诗文、书法和绘画。

早年师从名师，擅山水。吸收历代诸家技法，受黄鹤山樵影响尤深，然学古又不泥古。他画重章法，长于用线勾云划水，常用白云笔勾勒层峦叠嶂，再用墨块压挤留白为云为水，烟雾起伏画面之上，别具特色。晚年另起炉灶，吸取陈老莲、仇十洲笔意为己用，用于传统笔墨和意蕴。
